Biography

Katherine is a PhD student in the Language & Literacies Education (LLE) program.


Supervisor: Dr. Katherine Rehner
Thesis: Professional Identity as a Shaper of Lexicogrammatical Development in EAL Engineering Students (working title)

Research interests

She is interested in second language writing, and in particular how syntax and genre competence develop within communities of practice. Using a Complex Dynamic Systems framework, Katherine researches how language change can be represented and contextualized, both qualitatively and quantitatively.
