The Department of Curriculum, Teaching & Learning is the largest of four departments at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (С»ÆÊéÊÓƵ). With a diverse community of tenured, research, and teaching stream faculty, the department offers a wide-range of graduate courses and programs relating to academic scholarship and professional practice.

CTL is home to 3 graduate programs including Curriculum & Pedagogy, Language and Literacies Education and the Master of Teaching. We invite you to explore our programs and learn more.

Teacher Education

Our 2-year Master of Teaching program allows you to earn a graduate degree, conduct research, and obtain teacher certification in Ontario.  

Master's Programs

MA and MEd programs for those looking to conduct research, enhance professional practice and expand career options within and beyond the field of education.

Doctoral Programs

Full-time and flex-time PhD program options for working professionals and scholars who wish to pursue cutting-edge advanced research.

Welcome to the Department of Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning (CTL) at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (С»ÆÊéÊÓƵ), University of Toronto. As Chair, I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to all our future, new, and returning students. 

In CTL, you will study with faculty who are world-class researchers committed to imagining and building innovative and inclusive educational futures and whose research is interdisciplinary, creative, and impactful.
